Female Variety Stamp

Why does it seem that the only way a female in video games isn't called a Mary Sue is if she is 100% independent, asexual and kickass to the point of being flat? Seriously? It seems that if a girl is remotely sweet or tragic, a good chunk of people somewhere in the fandom jumps on her for... Being a Sue. Or if she shows even the slightest bit of sexuality, she's obviously a whore. Or if she happens to be friends with two males, she's a Sue. Or a bitch. Or in the way of teh yaoi.

I am here to say I support female variety. Yes, there are Sues out there. And people will endlessly debate what a Sue is. However, it seems that people are too busy campaigning for independent females that they don't realize how bordering on sexist it really is that all females in video games be so completely independent to the point of being a cardboard cut-out. Why? Because males get a huge variety. But it seems, if there's some sort of variety amongst the females in a video game, a majority are bashed for some of the stupidest reasons--usually that they aren't independent enough.

I agree, it's equally frustrating that females be reduced to the love interest or some sexist stereotype. But when there IS variety, why the hell are people complaining? Because some of them happen to not be fully independent? Even though some of the other females in that are? ...WTF?

I supposed I could type a longer rant, buuuut... Honestly? It's 3 AM. To put it simply: i like a variety of characterizations amongst my females, both dependent and independent. It's more realistic, dammit.

What I despise, is horny female character white knight simps, who claim to be for the representation, when in reality, they see these female characters as nothing more than sex toys and punching bags to batter. Good lord, why are male feminist fanboys such pigs in denial?

TBH, I like some rule 34 here and there, but I have limits and standards. I also don't rule 34 be a crippling addiction and find SFW art and fanfics enjoyable too.
